Elegant Louis Philippe style secretaire

Elegant Louis Philippe style secretaire, entirely veneered in sun-bleached walnut burl with a characteristic symmetrical "butterfly" pattern. The top is in white Carrara marble, supported by a shaped frieze. The front opens with a drop-down door which, when lowered, reveals a rich interior organized with a row of central and side small drawers, an open compartment with a shaped back, all made of birch wood with rosewood inlay; the door itself serves as a convenient writing surface. Below, two large drawers complete the piece, which rests on shaped bracket feet, typical of the Louis Philippe style. The piece retains its original working locks and keys.
