This refined mirror, made in Piedmont around the early 19th century, features an elegant frame of finely carved and gilded wood. In the upper portion, an oval-shaped painted canvas is inserted with a carved and gilded wooden frame from which two very refined leafy branches made of gilded wood depart, crossing each other. The upper frame portion of the entire mirror displays carved decoration with a central element featuring a composition of flowers and plant elements from which ribbons and two symmetrical garlands composed of lanceolate leaves and flowers develop.
The canvas, the work of a Piedmontese artist, is oil-painted and depicts a young boy belonging to a noble family, richly dressed according to the fashion of the late 18th century.
