The painting depicts the dream, the ecstasy of a woman lying on a cloud and surrounded and guarded by four cupids. The figures are connected by a soft drapery in shades of green, blue, red and yellow.
The painting comes from a private collection of Milan, has been lined with canvas and the apocryphal signature of Domenico Morelli has been hidden, covered by painting at the bottom right.
Set in a lovely modern carved and giltwood frame, with glass.
