Gilt bronze table clock with winged figure, France early 19th century.
Description:
Elegant gilt bronze table clock, featuring a classical winged figure seated on an architectural support, in a purely Neoclassical style. The composition combines the function of the clock with a rich repertoire of archaeological-inspired ornamentation, with decorative elements suspended on the sides, modeled as small antique-style urns held by swan-neck hooks.
The front of the base is adorned with a relief featuring a winged figure in flight within a landscape, a motif that reinforces the allegorical character of the ensemble. The quality of the casting and the fineness of the modeling, clearly visible in the wings, drapery, and decorative details, make the piece particularly representative of French production in the early 19th century.
