TWO STILL LIFE PAINTINGS BY FOSCO PAVI, SECOND HALF OF THE 20TH CENTURY
Description:
Unique and elegant still life paintings, signed by the painter Fosco Pavi (1910-2007), a renowned Florentine painter who produced a notable series of famous still lifes around the 1970s. Of the two paintings, the first is distinguished by its slightly larger dimensions and is characterized by oil on canvas, in a carved wooden frame, with a white fabric mat and glass cover. The painting depicts fruit, such as melon, peaches, and plums, a cabbage, and a crystal vase with flowers inside, arranged on a table. In the lower left corner, the artist's signature and the date, 1974, are visible. The second painting, instead, depicts a still life in oil on board, in a carved wooden frame (with minor defects noted), with a white fabric mat and glass cover. On a kitchen table with a tablecloth, there are apples, oranges, tomatoes, and a bird, while behind, between two copper pots, there is a vase with small branches from which flowers emerge. The artist's signature is also present on the left, with the date, in this case 1978. These are a pair of paintings of great taste and refinement, appreciable for their stylistic rendering and use of color, capable of adding a touch of class to any environment. Florentine manufacture by the artist Fosco Pavi, around the second half of the 20th century.
