Italian Art Deco sideboard attributable to Osvaldo Borsani, early 1940s
Description:
Elegant Art Deco sideboard produced in Italy in the early 1940s, attributable to the design of Osvaldo Borsani. The attribution is supported by period references and strong stylistic analogies with documented sideboards by the renowned Italian designer. The piece is distinguished by a sophisticated combination of rosewood, black ebonized details, and central fronts covered in parchment. The top surface is original black opal glass, with minor signs of age that attest to its authenticity and historical character. The sideboard features two large side doors with internal shelves, two central drawers, and above them, a compartment originally designed as a bar corner. This space can still be used today for bottles and glasses, or as a practical additional storage compartment. The long dark solid wood handles enhance the rhythm of the facade, while the ebonized profiles and decorative metal trim on the legs complete the piece with an elegant and typically Art Deco accent. The interiors are in walnut. An important piece of Italian design from the period, refined, functional, and rich in historical charm. Dimensions: 234 cm x 55 cm, H 93 cm Art.1111
