PAIR OF PAINTINGS WITH FLOWERS AND FRUIT LATE 17TH CENTURY
Description:
Refined and unique pair of oil paintings on canvas, in carved wooden frames finely gilded with gold leaf. The paintings depict two still lifes with flowers and fruit, symbols of good omen and wealth: in the first, flowers can be admired inside a basket, while mushrooms and various types of fruit are represented on the table. In the other, however, the flowers are depicted inside a copper vase, while on the right there is a basket of fruit with bunches of grapes, persimmons, and pomegranates. The stylistic rendering of these paintings is appreciated, highlighted by the skillful use of chiaroscuro and the meticulous attention to detail. This is a pair of paintings of great taste and refinement, capable of lending a touch of class and antiquity to any environment. Tuscan manufacture from the late 17th century.
