The furniture is constructed of ebonized wood and features an elegant shaped top richly decorated with inlay featuring floral, vegetal, and geometric motifs, typical of the finest Dieppe production of the era. Dieppe was indeed one of the most important French centers for artistic ivory work between the 17th and 19th centuries.
