Elegant Genoese fall-front desk from the Louis XV period, created during the 18th century and characterized by the harmonious curved lines typical of Ligurian production from the 1700s.
The piece of furniture is finely inlaid and embellished with a rich decorative scheme of banding and marquetry that frames the surfaces and highlights the spectacular wood grain.
The inlaid sides and the slender line give the furniture great elegance and proportional balance.
The interior retains the characteristic secretaire with small drawers and document compartments, making the fall-front desk particularly functional as well as decorative.
The furniture is in good general condition consistent with its age, with natural signs of time, minor wear, and slight lifting of the veneer. It requires conservation restoration. It should also be noted that the back panel has been replaced in a later period and is not original.
A piece of furniture of considerable craftsmanship quality, ideal for collectors and for elegantly furnishing historic homes and prestigious environments.
