The base is flanked by a female figure, personifying Study, who rests her left elbow on the books and holds a rolled-up diploma in her right hand. The antique green marble base features a gilded bronze frieze in the center depicting putti studying architecture, astronomy, and drawing. The 30-day calendar dial is signed "Dubuc Le Jeune". France.
