Large corner cabinet in solid walnut – Italy, early 19th century
Description:
We offer this important Italian corner cabinet, made in the very early 19th century, a piece of furniture with great scenic presence that combines architectural elegance and considerable storage capacity. Entirely made of walnut wood, it features a solid and robust structure, enhanced by magnificent doors with panels characterized by rich natural feather grain, which gives depth and movement to the wood surface. The quality of the raw material and the care in its craftsmanship are evident in every detail. The front is organized with four doors, two independent side compartments, and a large central compartment, surmounted by three drawers: a large central chest of drawers flanked by two practical side drawers. A functional configuration that makes the piece ideal both as a sideboard and as an important furnishing for a dining room, living room, or entryway. The elegant chamfered sides lighten the considerable imposingness of the furniture, giving it a refined profile typical of Italian production from the early decades of the 19th century. The piece has undergone careful conservative restoration. It presents only minimal integrations and small structural reinforcements carried out during the restoration, perfectly integrated and aimed solely at preserving the work. Today, it is in excellent conditions of stability and preservation, ready to be placed in any environment. Its generous dimensions make it a piece of furniture with a strong impact, perfect both in classic contexts and in contemporary interiors where an antique piece of this quality becomes the protagonist of the space.
