Tabletop money box, Northern Central Italy.
17th century.
Entirely made of ebonized wood richly inlaid with ivory in grotesque phytomorphic motifs, of parallelepiped shape, it rests on turned feet and features lateral handles. The interior is enriched by numerous small drawers arranged around a central door compartment.
This is a typical example of Baroque production intended for the storage of precious objects.
