Venetian school, first half of the 17th century. Oval, slightly convex bronze plaque depicting the profile of Emperor Claudius, with a border of weapons and trophies with lion protomes on the axes and the inscription CLAVDIVS CAES in raised letters.
This plaque is the third in the series known as "The Twelve Caesars", belonging to a reissue, modified with the addition of the frame, of the one created around the mid-16th century in the Paduan area.
