Description:
Oil on canvas. The expansive landscape frames a view of a plain rich in vegetation at the foot of rocky reliefs; a river flows through it with cascading passages, yet it is navigable. On the left, a path descends from an arched passage between two buildings on the hill behind. Two men in Oriental attire are traversing this path, carrying a large branch laden with berries balanced on a pole. The scene is depicted at sunset, with rosy hues in the sky radiating onto the mountain peaks. The painting has been previously restored and relined. It is presented in a gilded frame from the early 20th century.
