TÊTE À TÊTE COFFEE SERVICE IN PORCELAIN, FIRST HALF OF THE 19TH CENTURY
Description:
Refined old Paris porcelain coffee service from the Restoration period, characterized by elegant gilded and painted decorations. The service is a "tête-à-tête" and consists of a coffee pot, two cups, and two saucers. The decoration features animated pastoral landscapes and lake shores, enclosed in gold-framed reserves. Geometrized vegetal motifs adorn the rest of the surface with a purplish-red background, with references to the Pompeian style, especially on the cups where grotesque elements depicting swans can be found. Gold leaf gilding, also present inside the cups, completes the decoration, enriching its craftsmanship and lending elegance to the service. This is a unique set, capable of tastefully and elegantly furnishing any environment. French manufacture, probably Paris, first half of the 19th century.
