His artistic research is distinguished by the innovative use of materials, which become the central element of the work. Famous for his 'Tele' (Canvases) and 'Sacchi' (Sacks), Burri experimented with unusual materials such as jute, wood, iron, and tar, transforming them into powerful expressive tools. In the 1960s, he created the renowned 'Plastiche' (Plastics), obtained through the combustion and deformation of plastic material, creating surfaces rich in tension and visual suggestion. Among his best-known works are also the 'Cretti' (Cracks), characterized by large surfaces marked by deep fractures that evoke arid and natural landscapes. With his innovative language, Burri profoundly influenced the development of international contemporary art.
