Walnut Louis Philippe Writing Desk, Mid-19th Century

Refined writing desk made of solid walnut wood, finely carved, of compact dimensions. The desk is rectangular in shape, with molded legs, joined by a similarly molded crossbar. The front of the piece features two small drawers, ergonomically designed for storing small items. The special feature of this desk is the hinged top, which reveals an interior dressing table with a mirror, the latter removable, and a leather writing surface in red with gilded incised decorations. This is a writing desk of great taste and refinement, capable of adding a touch of class and antiquity to any setting. French craftsmanship, Louis Philippe period, mid-19th century.
