Set of decorative tiles – Richard Ginori
Description:
Set of decorative tiles – Richard Ginori
Set consisting of four square-shaped sturdy earthenware tiles within wooden cassette frames decorated with silver leaf and chased engravings. The compositions depict stylized swallows, singly or in pairs, interpreted through an essential graphic language of modernist taste; defined by incised contours and black outlines that enclose solid colored enamelled fields (in shades of green, black, and yellow) reminiscent of cloisonné work, translating its characteristic graphic style into ceramics with a decorative sensibility that reflects the pursuit of formal synthesis pursued by Richard Ginori in the 1950s.
