Maison Henry Dasson (Paris 1825 - 1896) - Double inkwell in gilded bronze.
Description:
Maison Henry Dasson (Paris 1825 - 1896) - Double inkwell in gilded bronze. 20 x 12 x h 8 cm. Finely chiseled and gilded bronze, with ruby and opaque white double-layer glass containers. Rocaille style. Work signed and dated on the back: "Henry Dasson 1879". The inkwell is part of the production of Henry Dasson, a Parisian bronze caster highly appreciated in the second half of the 19th century, known for the quality of his chasing and his faithful reinterpretation of historical styles, particularly of 18th-century French art. The body of the inkwell is entirely made of chiseled and gilded bronze, in Rocaille taste, with the top shaped as a cartouche enlivened by asymmetrical volutes, foliage, and curls. Two double-layer glass containers, ruby and opaque white, are housed in the upper part. The object bears the signature and the date 1879 impressed on the back, an element that attests to its authenticity and precise chronological placement in the Maison's most active period. Condition report: Good general condition. Wear patina on the gilding, uniform and consistent with the age of the object. All shipments within the EU are free and professionally packed.
