PTL732 - Lacquered and carved door, 18th century
Description:
PTL732 - Double-leaf door, lacquered with painted panels. Each leaf is divided into two large molded wooden panels with a flowing, sinuous line. The elegantly arched corners break the geometric rigidity of the frame, lending the entire structure a sense of lightness and movement. The surface features a base lacquer. Originally lighter, the hue has shifted over time to a warm and fascinating ivory shade. Inside the panels, there is a chiaroscuro decoration, almost monochrome, designed to simulate relief. In the upper panels, a refined floral motif stands out, from which floating ribbons, volutes, and vegetal garlands seem to move with lightness. In the lower panels, the decorative composition is geometrically adapted to the spaces, maintaining perfect visual coherence. It is a pull-open door, and the back is lacquered and carved. Era: 18th century. Dimensions: cm W120 x H233
