Important and decorative English dinner service in printed earthenware in shades of blue on an ivory background, produced by the renowned Palissy Pottery in the “Thames River Scenes” series.
The decoration, of typically British taste, depicts evocative landscapes along the Thames with architectural views, bridges, and rustic scenes, enclosed by rich floral borders. A service with a strong decorative character, ideal for use as well as for furnishing and collecting.
The Palissy manufactory, active in Staffordshire in the 20th century, is particularly appreciated for its productions inspired by the tradition of English transferware ceramics.
The service is presented in good general condition compatible with its age, with visible signs of time, crazing of the glaze, slight wear, and some imperfections. There are defects and minor damages on some pieces.
