Oil on canvas painting, depicting a mountain landscape view with an animated scene (soldiers with helmets, asking for information), of strong Roman origin; attributable to Andrea Locatelli (Rome 1695-1741). Locatelli was in the service of many noble Roman families, and experienced the cultural transformations of Rome between the late 17th and early 18th centuries.
The painting shows a relining from past times; the frame is not contemporaneous with the painting, but from a later period.
