This 17th-century Flemish tapestry depicting summer shows figures in period clothing interacting in a lush garden, while in the background a dense forest opens onto a fortified village. The dominant tones of blue, green, and ochre testify to the use of precious wool and silk yarns typical of the Oudenaarde or Brussels manufactories. The composition is enclosed by a rich perimeter border decorated with putti, garlands of flowers and fruits that enhance the decorative prestige of the work. Some restorations in the border as can be seen in the photos.
