Refined writing desk entirely veneered in walnut and rosewood, embellished with walnut burl and inlays also made with fruit woods. The desk features truncated pyramidal legs, characteristic of the period, and a sliding top towards the back. This makes the piece comfortable for seating without necessarily being placed within the space of the desk itself; when opened, it reveals the writing surface, equipped with a red leather-covered reading stand. The latter is also sliding, both in the center and at the sides, revealing four secret drawers ideal for storing objects. The piece also has five drawers on the front and is open, as the mastery of the inlays can also be admired on the back. The latter are highly refined, made in geometric patterns and in the classic fan shape on the edges, conferring superior elegance. This is a piece of great taste and refinement, capable of adding a touch of class and antiquity to any environment. Manufacture from central Italy of the Louis XVI period, around the late 18th century. Dimensions: H x W x D 83 x 123 x 65.5cm; D open 102.5cm
