Description: Life of the Virgin Mary and Christ. Tempera on panel, 214x41 cm. Devotional polyptych with Christological and Marian scenes composed of seven painted panels. The work shows scenes from the life of the Virgin Mary and Christ, each enclosed in a panel with a red frame. The scenes include (from left to right): Resurrection or Anastasis (Christ rising from the tomb), Ascension of Christ, Pentecost, Transfiguration, Visitation, Presentation of Jesus at the Temple, Dormitio Virginis (Death of the Virgin). The style is clearly iconographic, with the following characteristics: Byzantine influence: golden halos, flat figures, hieratic gestures; narrative simplicity and vivid colors, typical of popular iconography. The work is probably attributable to the 19th century. Dimensions: 214x41 cm. Origin: Private collection. Condition: Defects and restorations.
