Paul Trubetskoy (Intra VB 1866 1938), Lamb, patinated bronze sculpture, signed and dated 1912
Description:
Paolo Trubetskoy's Lamb is a refined patinated bronze sculpture, signed and dated 1912, embodying the author's elegance and artistic sensitivity. Celebrated for his Impressionist style, Trubetskoy captured the animal's delicacy and natural movement, imbuing the composition with a sense of vitality and spontaneity. This work represents a significant example of the sculptor's mastery in modeling bronze with vibrant and dynamic touches. The artwork also stands out for its delicacy and intimate character, in line with the sculptor's Impressionist sensibility. Compared to other works such as the Bust of Lev Tolstoy or the Female Figure in bronze, which emphasize portraiture and dynamic human figure representation, the Lamb shows particular attention to the natural rendering of animals, a recurring theme in Trubetskoy's production. His technique, characterized by deliberately unfinished surfaces and vibrant touches, is also evident in other sculptures such as the Horseman on a Rearing Horse, where movement and expressiveness powerfully emerge. However, the Lamb is distinguished by its simplicity and sense of calm, offering a contrast to the artist's more dynamic and monumental works. Height 53 cm, width 40 cm, depth 27 cm. Each item from our Gallery is sold with a certificate of authenticity issued by an expert of the Court and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Crafts and Agriculture of Genoa.
