Refined oil painting on canvas, in a red velvet passepartout, with a plaque, carved and gilded wooden frame, and protected by glass. The painting depicts a landscape view of the city of Naples, with Vesuvius in the distance, seen from the Virgilian Park of Posillipo, in the locality "La Grotta". The painting is signed in the lower right, with the name of the artist J. H. Bradley (1832-1888), a famous English painter, and the date of the work, which is 1872. It also bears on the back a series of inscriptions in English, which describe the view and the moment of the work, carried out under the afternoon sun.
