PAINTING OF A FLORENTINE LANDSCAPE, SECOND HALF OF THE 19TH CENTURY  Translated
Description:
Elegant oil painting on canvas, in a contemporary carved and gilded wooden frame. The painting depicts Florence in the late 19th century, with the Arno river and its central city bank, recognizable as the Uffizi, Piazza dei Giudici, and Palazzo della Signoria, while the Ponte Vecchio is visible in the distance. In the center of the work, there is a boatman intent on rowing on the river. This painting, besides being of great taste and refinement, demonstrates a remarkable stylistic and realistic capacity and rendering of forms; it also represents a historical testimony of the period, such as the presence of a quay with stairs that allowed access to the Arno, no longer visible today. The artist, whose signature is present in the lower left corner, is Paolina Poli, a well-known Florentine painter and one of the first female landscape painters of the period. Florentine manufacture from the second half of the 19th century. Measurements: Overall H x W x D 48 x 58 x 5cm; Artwork only H x W 40 x 49cm  Translated
