Marcelliano Canciani (1873-1953) Italian painter active between the late 19th and the first half of the 20th century. Originally from the Turin area, he dedicated a large part of his work to Alpine landscapes, with a particular focus on the territories of the eastern arc. His painting is characterized by a direct, observational naturalism, devoid of rhetorical emphasis, and by an atmospheric rendering that favors clear lighting conditions and a meticulous description of mountain morphology. He worked in a period of transition between late naturalism and early modern trends, while maintaining a traditional approach focused on the immediate perception of the landscape.  Translated
