Description:
Splendid work table with drop leaves, English craftsmanship, dating to the first half of the 19th century, made of precious mahogany and embellished with a refined mahogany feather with a warm amber hue.
The piece features a sober and balanced line, typical of the late Regency / early Victorian taste, characterized by harmonious volumes and remarkable construction quality. The upper surface with foldable drop leaves provides practicality and versatility of use, allowing the surface to be extended when needed while maintaining compact and elegant proportions when closed.
The front is defined by two shaped drawers, enriched by subtle moldings and original turned wooden knobs; the details.
The splendid grain of the mahogany feather, perfectly mirrored, lends depth and movement to the structure, further enhanced by the shellac polish which brings out the full nobility of the antique wood. Also particularly valuable is the central column support, mounted on a four-part base with scroll feet and original casters, an element that visually lightens the structure, lending it great formal elegance.
A refined piece of collectible taste, ideal for furnishing classic interiors, studies, or charming residences, capable of combining functionality, artisanal quality, and authentic 19th-century charm.
The furniture has undergone restoration work in recent years.
