Description:
Spectacular Sardinian chest from Barbagia, made in the early 1800s from carved and ebony-stained solid chestnut. Opens from the top: carved with 9 levels of detail, it has a front panel decorated with geometric elements: in the central part, there is a rosette with two peacocks on the sides. The craftsman carved the decorations based on the place of origin: they could be floral, geometric, or both. The chest measures 127x45 cm, the total height is 101 cm, the chest alone is 87 cm, and the legs alone are 14 cm. Having been recently restored, it is in good condition.
