This magnificent work is signed lower left: Wilhelm Buddenberg, and a brass plaque on the frame bears the inscription "Wilhelm Buddenberg". Attributable to the German painter Wilhelm Hermann Friedrich Buddenberg (born July 16, 1890, in Trier; died February 2, 1967, in Neuss), particularly renowned as a painter of animals and hunting scenes. This wonderful oil on masonite painting signed Wilhelm Buddenberg depicts a winter forest landscape. In the foreground, the main subject of the scene is a group of four pheasants.
