Important palace chandeliers from the early 17th century with the Guidi di Romena family crest.
Description:
Splendid and elegant pair of entirely wooden chandeliers with fine pastiglia stucco decoration, rich in classicizing festoons and masterfully carved cherub heads in both low and high relief, decorating the rich volutes of the base with lion feet. The chandeliers, attributable to a Tuscan-Roman production, date back to the very early 17th century and feature a crest with an heraldic element belonging to an important Italian noble family of medieval origins, the Counts Guidi of Romena, who dominated for centuries between Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna. These valuable items come from an important palace in the center of Rome. Their dimensions are 170cm in height and approximately 60cm in maximum width.
The chandeliers have undergone restoration to consolidate the original gilding, which was preserved in its integrity. Minor missing parts and losses have been completely repaired and supplemented with gold leaf. These already electrified chandeliers with their lampshades are ready to be placed in their spaces and halls, conferring a touch of extreme elegance to any type of furnishing.
