Etching by Giuseppe Zocchi (1716-1767) depicting the Lungarno and the Ponte Santa Trinita in Florence. At the bottom of the image is the title: "Veduta del Lung'Arno e del Ponte a S.Trinita presa dal Terrazzo de' SS. Rucellai" (View of the Arno River and the Bridge of Santa Trinita taken from the Terrace of the SS. Rucellai). The print is taken from the volume "Scelta di XXIV vedute delle principali contrade, piazze, chiese e palazzi della città di Firenze" (Selection of XXIV Views of the Main Streets, Squares, Churches, and Palaces of the City of Florence), published in Florence in the summer of 1744 and dedicated to Grand Duchess Maria Theresa of Austria.
The views that make up the volume combine the Florentine 17th-century tradition with the study of contemporary Venetian models and the use of the camera obscura, which provides a precise and analytical vision of urban spaces.
