Pair of wall shelves in carved and gilded wood, cartouche-shaped, with a central fan-shaped body decorated with acanthus and shell motifs. The top, with a shaped, undulating profile, is painted to imitate marble. Intended to hold small sculptures or decorative porcelain, these were recurring elements in 18th-century Italian palatial interiors.
Condition report: Good general condition. There are signs of wear and slight losses of gilding, consistent with the age of the artifact.
