NEOCLASSICAL TEMPLE CLOCK LATE 18TH CENTURY  Translated
Description:
Elegant temple clock in white marble with gilded bronze finishes. The clock features a rectangular base, enhanced by two columns and a temple-like top. The finish is embellished with classical-inspired gilded bronze details, such as caryatids on the sides, a pendulum with an unconquered sun, stars, and geometric, floral, and festoon motifs, which lend further refinement to the piece. The mechanism includes a weekly striking movement that indicates the hours and half-hours, an anchor escapement, and a thread suspension. The dial displays the hours in Roman numerals and bears the watchmaker's signature: "Thomas Keller," along with the place of production "au Puy," referring to the French city of Le Puy-en-Velay. This is a clock of great taste and antiquity, capable of elegantly and tastefully furnishing any environment. French manufacture from the Neoclassical-Louis XVI period, around the late 18th century.
