The structure features a pierced shield-shaped backrest, typical of British cabinetmaking tradition, enriched with a central neoclassical urn motif and fan decorations. The curved armrests terminate in a harmonious junction with the uprights, while the square-section front legs taper downwards, lending lightness and grace to the form. The work is inspired by the principles of the Louis XVI style, reinterpreted in the English taste of the period, characterized by geometric rigor softened by naturalistic and classicizing decorations. Of British manufacture, the object dates to the second half of the 19th century (peak Victorian period with revivalist references).
