LYRE CLOCK IN WHITE MARBLE AND RHINESTONES MID 19TH CENTURY  Translated
Description:
Refined and unique lyre clock, with a white marble base and gilded bronze finishes. The clock is enriched with fabulous gilded bronze decorations, geometric and festoon motifs, as well as at the top with a 'sun invictus' finial and garlands of flowers. The dial, characterized by gilded bronze hands and Roman numerals for the hours, is also adorned with crystal rhinestones and two gilded bronze caryatids that add further elegance. The dial also bears the signature of the clockmaker: "F. Berthoud Paris", a French watchmaker. The mechanism, which is bell-shaped, strikes the hours and half-hours and bears the stamp "Travaille d'argent Vincenti 1855", indicating the maker of the chime. This is a clock of great refinement and uniqueness, capable of furnishing any environment with a touch of class and taste. French manufacture, mid-19th century.
