Maiolica pharmacy jar or chervette with blue and white decoration, Savona, mid-17th century

With an oval body, long neck, tubular spout, and handle ending in a mascaron, it is decorated in cobalt blue monochrome with a naturalistic "orientalizing" motif featuring leafy sprigs and flowers, animated by two birds. The apothecary band across the center bears the inscription "Mel. Violati. Solut.". Mark: Crown (?) Height 22 cm.
