Angiolo Volpe, born in Livorno in 1943, developed a great passion for painting from a young age, which has accompanied him throughout his life. Thanks to his origins, Volpe came into contact with the painting of the Macchiaioli, who influenced his style and technique.
The subjects that Volpe has chosen to treat reflect the love he harbors for his land, Tuscany, and in particular for the city of Livorno, the sea, and the Maremma region. His art, imbued with a deep sensitivity towards nature and the elements that make up the landscape, depicts the daily life of his land.
Volpe's works have achieved great success both in Italy and abroad, being exhibited also in the United States and Japan. Critics have been particularly sensitive to his ability to represent the soul of Tuscany and to express through his paintings the beauty and authenticity of his land.
