Description:
Painting depicting a crevasse on Mont Blanc, represented from a close-up viewpoint that highlights the structure of the ice and the rocky formation of the high mountains. The composition develops vertically, with a central ridge organizing the pictorial space and guiding the gaze towards the mountain masses in the background.
In the foreground, fractured glacial surfaces can be distinguished, marked by deep fissures and chromatic variations that convey the texture of ice and rock. The predominant tones are cool whites, grays, and blues, modulated by warmer, earthy touches in the exposed rocky areas.
The brushwork is compact and measured, with visible but controlled strokes, aimed at building volumes without lingering on descriptive detail. The work is signed in the lower left and dated 1939.
Available with a 7 cm antique fir wood frame, custom-made in our restoration workshop.
