Art Nouveau Sconces Pair, France, First Half 20th Century
Description:
Pair of two-light wall sconces in opalescent glass and gilded bronze. Structure resembling a bundle of reeds with a floral corolla housing one of the two lights. The main decorative element consists of a stylized fish in opalescent glass, characterized by a sinuous movement with its tail pointing upwards, resting above a leafy base and placed in a projecting position. Water rivulets in opalescent glass placed below the animal complete the ornamental apparatus. The glass parts show small chips and slight imperfections.
