Refined mahogany commode, richly inlaid, 19th century, Holland.
The front is articulated by an upper drawer and a door below, with a shelf inside, both embellished with elaborate inlays, depicting elegant floral and vegetal motifs arranged within geometric reserves. The front door features a floral vase in the center, rendered with fine detail and great decorative sense, while the drawer is adorned with a stylized vegetal frieze.
The sides are also decorated with rich inlaid panels depicting vases with floral compositions, framed by thin fillets. The top surface is decorated with an inlaid composition that echoes the ornamental repertoire of the entire piece of furniture.
The lock is original with a bronze escutcheon.
