Vienna c. 1820. Early Viennese designers, likely Joseph Danhauser or his immediate circle. A wonderful chair with a "timeless" design in absolutely intact condition. This is a museum-quality object that needs no introduction. It is veneered in cherry burl on a maple and pearwood structure. The polish has been refreshed with genuine shellac applied by hand over the original patina. The original upholstery is entirely preserved (excluding the outer black satin, naturally). H. 94 cm, seat 45 cm, W. 46 cm, D. 46 cm.
Observe the last photo in this listing, which is a fanciful computer simulation where the original work is virtually imagined in a high-end modern interior design setting. It reveals an astonishing "modernity," luminosity, and abstraction for a piece conceived over two centuries ago, adding a great touch of class and elegance. The high-quality Viennese antique cabinetry from the Neoclassical period (1770-1830), characterized by its sober and minimalist elegance and precious, light-colored woods, aligns very well with the lines of contemporary modern furniture.
A unique original piece, perfect as a focal point for high-level contemporary interiors!
Early design from the Viennese masters of the early Biedermeier period: clean lines, lightness, veneers in precious woods, and great craftsmanship. Compact dimensions and compatibility with modern apartments. A feeling of everyday elegance and functionality. Perfect for minimalist contemporary interiors. A unique item for discreet and refined luxury. For these reasons, along with their rarity, intact original Viennese pieces from this period, prototypes of modernism, are destined for significant economic revaluation over time and also represent a perfect form of investment.
