Italian Modeler (18th century) - Venus at the Bath. 27 x 22 x h 45 cm. Full figure in molded terracotta. The sculpture depicts a Venus seated on a rock, caught in the act of drying her foot. The figure, in a neoclassical style, is rendered with anatomical attention in the modeling of the torso and limbs, while a cloth gathered beneath her animates the composition with soft folds. The face, tilted downwards, expresses concentrated contemplation. The model harks back to the tradition of seated Venuses from the Italian academic milieu of the 18th century.
