Description:
Antique painted fir wood chest, with colors predominantly in faux marble brown tones. The front is divided by a sequence of arched panels with a blue-green background, each decorated with floral motifs. In the center is the date (1801) accompanied by the inscription of a proper name, according to the custom of wedding and dowry chests in the Alpine region. The lower part, shaped, features two painted panels with a green background and white branch motifs. Geometric frames are painted on the sides and lid. Inside, the typical side compartment is well-preserved, useful for safely storing small items.
The surface shows a uniform patina that gives the piece character and value.
Work carried out on all our furniture:
- Structural restoration: repair of small missing parts, filling of any cracks on the back, consolidation of deteriorated areas, inspection and repair of hardware.
- Thorough woodworm treatment.
- Cleaning and sanitization of the interior.
- Exterior finish with natural beeswax.
- Interior finish with shellac, a natural alcohol-based varnish.
