Description:
Vienna 1810-1815. Circle of Joseph Danhauser. Very rare and important set of four chairs in practically intact condition from the early Empire / very early Biedermeier period, veneered in precious poplar burl, with ebanized details and fillets. "Lyre motif" backrest with carved and ebanized lance decorative details. 90 cm height, seat height 45 cm, depth 44 cm, max width 50 cm. In practically intact condition, consolidated and with a museum standard shellac finish applied over original patina. Rare Viennese Empire furniture with sober elegance and warm "golden" / amber patina. Giuseppe Danhauser Ulrich (born March 14, 1780 in Vienna; † January 9, 1829 in Vienna), was a brilliant designer and the foremost Biedermeier furniture maker. He worked in Wieden, Vienna. He boasted the highest nobility, the royal house, and the haute bourgeoisie among his clients. Observe the fourth photo on this page, which is a computer simulation imagining the works in a high-end modern interior design context. It reveals a "modernity," a luminosity, and an abstraction astounding for works conceived over two centuries ago. Adding a great touch of class and elegance to the ensemble. The high Viennese cabinetmaking of the Neoclassical period (1770-1830), with its sober and minimalist elegance and precious, light-colored woods, blends very well with contemporary modern design lines. Unique pieces, perfect as focal points in high-level contemporary interiors. Early design by Viennese masters of the early Biedermeier period = clean lines,_lightness, veneering with precious woods, great craftsmanship. Compact dimensions and compatibility with modern apartments. A sense of everyday and functional elegance. Perfect for minimalist contemporary interiors. A unique item for discreet and refined luxury. For these reasons, along with their rarity, intact original Viennese pieces from the period, prototypes of modernism, are destined for significant economic revaluation over time and also represent a perfect investment.
