Dancer with fan skirt  Translated
Description:
Magnificent polychrome ceramic sculpture that perfectly embodies the Art Deco aesthetic of the 1920s and 1930s. The Goldscheider manufactory, founded in Vienna by Friedrich Goldscheider, is famous for having collaborated with the best sculptors of the era, including Josef Lorenzl for this work. Finely sculpted and hand-painted underglaze ceramic sculpture. The work depicts a dancer in a dynamic and theatrical pose, typical of the variety shows of the period. The female figure is captured in the moment she lifts the flaps of her wide skirt, creating a striking fan shape that frames her body. The intense glazed blue, with contrasting floral decorations, recalls the glossy finishes used by Goldscheider in the 1930s. The pose with one leg forward and the torso slightly arched adds a touch of sensuality typical of Josef Lorenzl. The presence of such clear marks and Lorenzl's signature places the work in the high-end of Art Deco collectibles, moreover, it is model 7582, one of the "Top" pieces.  Translated
