Description:
Vienna, 1815-20. Circle of early designers close to Joseph Danhauser. Rare bookcase, also usable as a display cabinet, entirely dismantled, from the early Viennese Biedermeier period by its designers, finely veneered in flamed ash burl. With a warm, original early patina and a warm amber-golden color. The front features a circular glass section, shared by the two doors. Ebonized sunburst motifs radiating from the center, typical of the most refined Viennese Biedermeier. The piece boasts an incredibly modern line, characteristic of the early Viennese Biedermeier designers close to Joseph Danhauser. The furniture is in excellent condition, including internal and external hardware, with original, delicately wavy glass from the period. In its original patina, with a museum-standard French polish finish. Exceptional when paired with contemporary high-end furnishings for an ensemble of refined elegance. The interior, in its original condition, has been masterfully French polished, respecting the traditional conservation restoration techniques; it is possible to reupholster it with luxurious paper upon request. The furniture is fully dismantled with ingenious, intact mechanisms to facilitate its eventual movement, as is typical of the "practical" living culture of the Viennese Biedermeier period. Dimensions: height 198 cm, width 137 cm, depth 57 cm. Observe the second image on this page, which is a computer-generated simulation imagining the piece in a high-end modern furnishing context. It reveals an astonishing "modernity," luminosity, and abstraction for a work conceived over two centuries ago, adding a great touch of class and elegance to the ensemble. The high-end Viennese cabinetmaking of the Neoclassical period (1770-1830), with its sober and minimal elegance and precious, light woods, complements the lines of contemporary modern furniture. A unique piece, perfect as a focal point in high-level contemporary interiors. The early design of the true Viennese masters of the early Biedermeier period embodies clean lines, lightness, precious veneers, and great craftsmanship. Its contained dimensions make it compatible with modern apartments, conveying a sense of everyday, functional elegance. Perfect for minimalist contemporary interiors. A unicum for discreet and refined luxury. For these reasons, along with their rarity, intact original Viennese pieces from this period, prototypes of modernism, are destined for significant economic revaluation over time and represent a perfect investment.
