The painting depicts the Gospel moment of the Annunciation, when the Archangel Gabriel informs the Virgin Mary of the conception of Christ.
On the left, the announcing angel, depicted with outstretched wings and flowing robes, is shown in descending motion. The gesture of the raised hand indicates the act of divine revelation.
While on the right is the Virgin Mary, represented in a pious and contemplative pose, with downcast gaze and hand on her chest, symbolizing acceptance and humility.
Mary is placed next to a lectern with an open book, a clear reference to the Holy Scriptures and spiritual meditation.
Above the figures, a dove appears from above, a symbol of divine presence and the Holy Spirit.
Good state of preservation with widespread craquelure on the painted surface, consistent with the age of the work
